Enrollment Deadline Less Than 2 Weeks

The deadline for youth to enroll in the Boone County 4-H program for 2010 is December 15th. This is also your last opportunity to add a new project for the 2010 4-H Fair.

Any youth interested in becoming a Boone County 4-H member must submit an enrollment form and $10.00 fee no later than December 15th. Enrollment forms are available from the Purdue Extension office of Boone County, located at the 4-H Fairgrounds, and their web site at www.ibccn.org/ces . For more information contact the Extension office at 765-482-0750, Monday thru Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Vote to Preserve The Dull's Tree Farm Barn

The Dull Family has been a long-time supporter of Boone County 4-H by serving in a variety of volunteer positions, and Western Boone FFA is a strong partner of Boone County 4-H.

The Western Bone FFA along with Clinton Prairie FFA and Dull's Tree Farm are competing to participate in the: CAMPBELL SOUP COMPANY AND THE NATIONAL FFA ORGANIZATION PRESERVING BARNS ACROSS THE COUNTRY. They are down to the final ten. Five barns will be funded.

A Facebook page for Boone County 4-H Club Inc has been established. This page is meant for members, parents, and alumni to communicate with each other and share information. Become a fan by going to the Boone County Extension Office web site at www.ibccn.org/ces and clicking on the Facebook link.

Get Ready for Next Year!

Please be advised of the following updates and upcoming dates:
* The fall 4-H newsletter is posted on the web
* The Project Fair open house will be October 18th, 2-4 pm, at the fairgrounds in Lebanon. Youth may begin enrolling in 4-H for 2010 at the Project Fair. Enrollment forms will NOT be available until the Project Fair.
* 4-H members submitting an Achievement Record Book are reminded that they are due to the Extension Office September 28th.

It would be great to post pictures you may have of your projects so we can see what everyone was able to achieve. I'm sure everyone put forth their best effort!

Final Club Meeting & Pool Party

This Sunday, July 12, our last meeting of the 4-H year will be a pool party at the Dale's home.

We will be signing record sheets and project manuals. Club T-shirts will also be distributed so don't miss it!

Fair Orientation

Mark your calendars for the Fair Orientation Meeting on Tuesday, July 14 at 7:00 pm at the Community Building. This will be a great time to become familiar with project check-in and -out, as well as receive a tour of the fair grounds. Tony and Vicki will be answering questions and giving tips to make your fair experience less stressful!
